Fraction Pizzeria- Grade 3
This lesson is a fun interactive lesson where students use manipulatives to represent mathematic equations. Each student will get a pizza “order slip” where it will have different fractions and different topping. An example would be that on the order slip, half of the pizza has pepperoni and a quarter has mushrooms. Students would then take their pizza, the peperoni and mushroom manipulatives and glue them onto the pizza to correctly reflect the order slip. The students will then submit their pizza and order slip to the teacher. This is something that can be posted in the class, and a fun way for students to relate fractions to the real world.
Kindness Quilt Lesson Plan- Grade 5/6
This lesson plan is an ELA lesson where students create their own kindness collage or quilt, with drawings and writing of how they spread kindness. This lesson can be paired with a multitude of books, videos or other medias that connect to being a kind person. In this lesson plan specifically it has the video Life Vest- Kindness Boomerang- “One Day” . The video captures the affects that one act of kindness can have on not just on person, but then the ripple effect that spreads to multiple others. After watching the video students will think, and then share by including their square on the quilt. In my practicum, we hung the quilt in the hall for the school to see and then inspire other kindness.

This is what my first semester practicum class (grade 5/6’s) created. On each square is an idea of how they will spread kindness.
