This is where it all began, my Kindergarten class, and that’s me in the back right! It was this teacher that inspired me to become one myself, and my classmates who supported me. I am lucky to still be in contact with my kindergarten teacher today, and very good friends with all of my classmates from this class.

Above was my first ever class photo as a students, but this photo is the first ever photo of myself being in a teaching role. My first practicum class will always be special to me as it was the first real opportunity where I was able to be in front of the class as a teacher candidate. The feedback and experiences from this opportunity are ones that I would not trade for the world.

In EDELL 3100 I took pride in creating an interactive word ladders activity using letter and image manipulatives for my peers to move on the board. This was meant to represent how learning can step away from traditional pen and paper.

This is some student art from a pointillism lesson that I was able to teach to the grade 5/6’s during my first practicum. As someone who loves art, this was a very fun lesson where the students got to create such intricate pieces of art by using different sized marker points. Each student in the class loved this activity, which made me love it even more.

I wrote a book! Although it was an assignment, this project was near and dear to me as it was dedicated to my mom. The book brought to life her thimble collection that she has been working on for the past 35 years. She always makes the smallest things in life so special, so I wanted to write something for her and how amazing she makes life. She always wanted to be a teacher, but it wasn’t in the cards for her. It is one of the reasons why she is my number one supporter in this journey and I am forever grateful for all that she does.
