Westside Ringette Bursary of Leadership-2021

Receiving the West Kelowna Ringette Bursary of Leadership was an incredible honor and a meaningful milestone to get me to where I am today, while also reflecting on what I had done to get to that point. This award recognized not only my commitment to the sport but also the leadership, dedication, and mentorship I strived to bring to my team, the teams that I coached and the community. Being acknowledged for the positive impact I had both on and off the ice was deeply rewarding. It reaffirmed my belief in the value of leading with integrity, compassion, and enthusiasm. This bursary not only supported my educational goals but also motivated me to continue growing as a leader and role model in everything I do.

Mar Jok Elementary Student Representative Award and Bursary- 2021

The Mar Jok Elementary Student Representative Award and Bursary acceptance was a meaningful moment in my educational journey. This award recognized leadership, kindness, and a strong sense of community—values I’ve always tried to uphold. It was especially significant because I had been moved to Mar Jok as part of a school rezoning in the 6th grade (the final year of my elementary career but the first year the school was opened), leaving behind familiar faces and routines. Adjusting to a brand new school was challenging, but it taught me resilience and the importance of stepping outside my comfort zone. Being recognized in this way reminded me that positive impact can grow from change, and that leadership often begins with adaptability.

The Dean’s List- 2024

Being on the Dean’s list was one of my most exciting accomplishments. My university experience before this program was taking filler courses that met the credit requirement to gain entry into the teaching program. Although the other courses were interesting, they were far from what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Due to this, my GPA suffered. Being in the BEd program and putting in as much effort as I can and seeing results that reflect those efforts, just reassures my passion everyday that this is where I am meant to be. Being the first in my family to go to post-secondary and then receiving notice that I was placed on the Dean’s list made my family proud which then made myself even prouder.
