As a future teacher, the First Peoples Principles of Learning guide me in creating a classroom that values connection, community, and holistic growth. These principles remind me that learning is relational, experiential, and grounded in respect for all forms of knowledge. I strive to honor the cultural identities of my students by creating space for Indigenous perspectives and ways of knowing. Learning takes time, requires patience, and is embedded in memory, history, and story. By embracing these principles, I aim to foster a classroom rooted in respect, inclusivity, and a deeper understanding of the land and people we learn from.
